Accomplished bassist Concord Nkabinde will keep the South African music flag flying high as one of the local stars who will be performing during the eighth edition of the annual Cape Town International Jazz Festival in March.
The Soweto-born artist, who plays anything from smooth jazz to hard rock, has earned his spurs as a sought-after session musician, producer and band leader.
Well-travelled internationally, the Standard Bank Young Artist Award(2006) winner has collaborated with some of the country’s leading lights, including Abdullah Ibrahim, Hugh Masekela, Ray Phiri and Johnny Clegg.
With two outstanding World Music album under his belt titled, The Time, The Season(2003) and This Is My World(2006), Concord has distinguished himself as a versatile artist.

The festival is scheduled for March 30 and 31 at the Cape Town International Convention Centre.
