After four years of putting his recording together, the time and the season for bass guitarist, composer and producer, Concord Nkabinde, to tell his story has come.

Concord has been working behind the scenes for many years and has gone solo releasing a powerful smooth sounding vocal album The Time, The Season.

The Soweto-born arranger and music educator mentions on the sleeve note of his CD cover, Princess Magogo, Soul Brothers, the brilliance of Themba Mkhize's reconciling of Zulu roots and jazz harmonies, Bob Marley, Phuzekhemisi, Ladysmith Black Mambazo and Melvin Davis as some of the sounds, souls and dreams that shaped his story and continue to do so.

The Time, The Season, is a beautiful 14-track CD on which Concord sings about life in Soweto, where he grew up (Calypsoweto), love (U Make Me Fly, Canciones De Amor), cultural diversity (Sitting On Top Of The World) and other various aspects of life.

Concord's work as a producer includes recordings by Joyous Celebration 1 and for the late Wendy Mseleku. He has also recorded and/or performed with: Johnny Clegg, the Soweto String Quartet, Ernie Smith, Abdulah Ibrahim, Roy Ayers (US) Vusi Mahlasela, Gito Baloi, Darius Brubeck, Gloria Bosman, Black (UK), Willow Creek Band (Chicago, US), Tamara Dey and many more.

This album showcases most of the styles and influences he has explored as a freelance musician - styles so vast and different, yet somehow he has achieved a common thread that ties these worlds together.
